Former starting Notre Dame quarterback Dayne Crist has decided to spend his fifth year in college with his old college coach in Kansas. Today via Twitter Crist announced he would be joining new head coach Charlie Weis in Lawrence...
@dcrist10: "After a long & difficult decision making process, I'm incredibly excited to join the Kansas football team. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!"
Crist will immediately compete for the starting position. Rumor is that BYU transfer and former ND target QB Jake Heaps is also transferring to Kansas where he would have to sit out a year. Weis never had a problem getting the top ranked QBs while at Notre Dame so this should come as little surprise. Crist will have one year to make or break a college career that never quite lived up to expectations due to two major knee injuries.
Prediction: Crist will thrive in Lawrence...Kansas will win 5-7 games...Crist will get drafted late in the 2013 NFL Draft.
