Tide will Roll Again

I may not be a Saban fan, but he's a genius and his team is scary good. The Tide will Roll again. It’s going to be a hell of a season!

BCS TITLE GAME: Alabama vs. Ohio State
The last 4 years have ended with the SEC Champion hoisting the BCS trophy. This year will be no different. Alabama goes to the title game with one loss, probably to Auburn, and faces and undefeated Ohio State. Ohio State has a reputation of never losing to a team in Ohio. Granted, the other teams include Akron, Marshall, Ohio, Miami-Ohio, and the powerhouse that is Moorehead State, but the Little 11 or whatever they are going to call themselves now just isn’t what it used to be. The toughest game on the Ohio State schedule may realistically be Iowa, but getting past UM in week 2 may not be the easiest of battles. Terrelle Pryor may just be the Heisman front runner and the Buckeyes have sworn to actually, gasp, pass the ball this year. Personally, I hope OSU makes it to the title game. I don’t think they have what it takes to hang with a top tier SEC team this year and they will still never have won a bowl games against the SEC. As much as I don't want to see the Buckeyes in the title game over an undefeated Boise State the pollsters and computers will get them there because of the BCS affiliation of the Big Ten.

Winner: Alabama 38 – Ohio State 10

ROSE BOWL: Iowa vs. Oregon
I agree with Matt, Iowa looks good and they should run the table, outside of losing to OSU. Despite losing Jeremiah Masoli, Oregon will be good yet again and should win the Pac-10 with a 2 loss season. Look at Stanford and Oregon State as possible underdogs, but let’s face it, Lame Kiffin is not going to be at the Rose Bowl unless he’s in the stands so I could care less. No University of Spoiled Children = win for McPeters! This game would be the classic offense versus defense and definitely a game worth paying for.

Winner: Oregon 17 – Iowa 14

ORANGE BOWL: FSU vs. TCU
In the first season without Bobby Bowden on the side lines since Dinosaurs were not fossils, Jimbo Fisher leads a very talented and very deep FSU team to win the ACC and play in the Orange Bowl. TCU is this year’s Boise State and there is a huge BCS ruckus as to how TCU is not in the title game. When all is said and done, Florida State and Christian Ponder prove this year isn’t a fluke and show they are on the verge of regaining national status. FSU will just be too much for TCU to handle.
Winner: FSU 24 – TCU 17

FIESTA BOWL: Boise State vs. Oklahoma
Maybe I’m just praying for this rematch, but would love to see a 1 loss Oklahoma face a 1 loss Boise State. TCU and Boise will both be very good this year and show they belong on the national level, but both teams falter in bowl games and prove they aren’t quite ready to face the big boys on a week to week schedule. Oklahoma uses the embarrassing Statue of Liberty play as motivation and makes it seem like Smurfette isn’t the only girl on Planet Smurf and looks for to the old time “there’s always next year” motto. Let’s be honest, this game isn’t going to happen anyway so let me run with this hope.

Winner: Oklahoma 38 – Boise 17

SUGAR BOWL: Georgia vs. Texas

Texas wins their conference and UGA shocks the nation. Texas is deep and talented yet again. They signed a great recruiting class again and Mack Brown and Will Muschamp prove they are one of the best coaching tandems in the nation. The defense proves stifling all season, but Texas loses one game to get knocked out of the National Championship and is less than enthused to play UGA. Georgia lives up to it’s sleeper status. Aaron Murray matures through the season and with the Offense around him, has the slack to do so. The UGA schedule is set up to get here and Georgia beats a very deep, very talented, but very young Florida to get into the SEC Championship game with one loss. Alabama beats UGA and goes on to the National Championship and UGA is thrilled to be back in a BCS bowl. Mark Richt may lose this bowl game, but I’m not betting against UGA to step up and with Murray mature at this point, the sky is the limit. Georgia uses the spurning of Will Muschamp as motivation and AJ Green, Washaun Ealey, and Orson Charles light up the Texas defense and Grantham’s 3-4 is in full swing breaking Garret Gilbert’s hopes, dreams, and maybe a couple of ribs.

Winner: UGA 24 – Texas 13

HEISMAN TROPHY: Terrell Pryor, Ohio State

Terrelle Pryor loses the National Championship game, but finally lives up to all the hype in a close vote.

COACH OF THE YEAR: Mark Richt, UGA
With all of the off the field troubles and an 8-5 season behind him, Richt makes a BCS bowl and gets the respect he deserves. He’s 90 and 27 in his 10 years as the head of UGA and the “mediocre” talks finally end. Richt remains the dean of the SEC and pride comes back to the Bulldawg Nation.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL 2010 PREDICTIONS

With college football finally kicking off tonight and the long suffering of the Charlie Weis Era coming to an end for this fan I figured I would give you some predictions.

BCS TITLE GAME: Florida vs. Ohio State
Let's face it the BCS Title game doesn't exist without a SEC team in it. I don't think Florida is going to go undefeated but I think they have the most talent in the country while also being led by one of the elite coaches in Urban Meyer. Some people expect them to falter now that God, I mean Tim Tebow, is off to the NFL. I'm not one of them. John Brantley will step in and do an excellent job and I actually expect them to put more points on the board. Their defense will be nasty with probably the nation's best defensive line and secondary. I can see them slipping up on a trip to Alabama on October 2nd but I think after that they will run the table and beat either Bama or Auburn in the SEC Championship. The Buckeyes have the best offense and defense in the Big Ten. Sorry Hawkeyes fans. They are also due for a breakout season from Terrelle Pryor. They have tough road games with Wisconsin and Iowa but other than that the schedule is manageable with Miami, Penn State, and Michigan all coming to Columbus. As much as I don't want to see the Buckeyes in the title game over an undefeated Boise State the pollsters and computers will get them there because of the BCS affiliation of the Big Ten.

ROSE BOWL: Iowa vs. Stanford
The Hawkeyes lose only one game all year and a chance to play in the BCS Title game with a narrow defeat at home to Ohio State in late November. They travel to Pasadena to face a Stanford Cardinal team that has shocked the nation all season. Andrew Luck will have a Heisman worthy season and Jim Harbaugh will get coach of the year nods.

ORANGE BOWL: Miami vs. Notre Dame
The old "Catholics vs Convicts" rivalry. This is another huge reach since I have my doubts either one of these teams is really elite. Miami could start off 1-3 and still make the Orange Bowl. They have road games with Ohio State(loss), Pittsburgh(75% chance of winning), and Clemson(60%) to start off the season. Wow that is rough. Jacory Harris will be sporadic at best but the Canes will ride an experienced defense to win the ACC. Notre Dame will lose at least two games(my guess is Michigan State/Stanford and USC) but under Brian Kelly they will have an explosive offense that will keep voters voting for them in the human polls. And with the economy the way it is there is no way the Orange Bowl passes on a sure fire sellout and the television ratings a Notre Dame program would bring to Miami.

FIESTA BOWL: Boise State vs. Nebraska
Boise State goes undefeated but gets passed over by a one loss SEC team. Sucks but it's going to happen. The smurfs beat the bag out of Virginia Tech to start the season but then struggle to beat Nevada at the end of the year and thus lose some key votes. Nebraska benefits from Texas being down this year and Oklahoma not showing up in the Big 12 title game to win the conference in their last season. This will be one of the more entertaining matchups.

SUGAR BOWL: Alabama vs. Oklahoma
Both Bama and Oklahoma lose in their conference championship game with a chance to reach the BCS Title game. If this game does happen I would expect nothing less than a Bama blowout.

HEISMAN TROPHY: Andrew Luck, Stanford
Luck edges out Terrelle Pryor in an extremely close vote.

COACH OF THE YEAR: Brian Kelly, Notre Dame
Losingham and Weis both won the honor their first seasons under the Golden Dome, why not Kelly?

LOMBARDI AWARD (TOP COLLEGE LINEMAN): Adrian Clayborn, Iowa

DOAK WALKER AWARD (BEST RUNNINGBACK): DeMarco Murray, Oklahoma

BILETNIKOFF AWARD (BEST RECEIVER): A.J. Green, UGA

MACKEY AWARD (BEST TIGHT END): Kyle Rudolph, Notre Dame

BUTKUS AWARD (TOP LINEBACKER): Greg Jones, Michigan State

THORPE AWARD (BEST DEFENSIVE BACK): Patrick Peterson, LSU

NATIONAL CHAMPION: Florida Gators
There is no way I can take a Big Ten team over a SEC team in the championship. I may be dumb but I'm not that dumb.

And oh yeah, the DickRod experiment ends in Ann Arbor after a 5-7 season. John Harbaugh will be the leading candidate to replace Rodriguez but he declines. The second candidate will be Les Miles but he will also decline it. They wind up with Chris Petersen from Boise State. Great consolation prize if you ask me.

MIAMI -40.5 AGAINST FLORIDA A&M

I know Florida A&M isn't all that but honestly is Miami exploding with enough talent and great coaching to cover the -40.5 line tonight? I'm going to say no. My first bet of the college football season is on the Rattlers. I think they can hang for at least a half against the Canes. Plus Miami is looking forward to next week's battle at the Shoe against Ohio State. Classic look ahead game here. It won't be an upset but FAMU beats the spread.

Prediction: Miami 45 FAMU 17

Confidence level: 8

BYU SIGNS ON FOR MORMONS VS CATHOLICS GAME WITH NOTRE DAME

The BYU Cougars have announced their independence! Today they revealed to the college football world that they have signed an 8 year deal with ESPN to televise their home games and also announced a 6 year deal with Notre Dame to start a holy war to end all holy wars!!!!! Oh it's fucking on Mormons!

BYU has entered into an eight-year partnership with ESPN to televise every home football game, it was announced Wednesday.

At a press conference announcing the independence of their football program, the Cougars also announced a six-game series with Notre Dame that will run through 2020.

BYU president Cecil Samuelson said, “We are convinced we are taking major positive steps forward.”

BYU is leaving the Mountain West Conference for two reasons, according to athletic director Tom Holmoe.

“It comes down to two pillars,” he said. “Access and exposure. ... Independence increases access to our games for fans everywhere and it increases the exposure of our student-athletes.”

I'm not positive who God would root for in this scenario but I'm pretty sure he would go Notre Dame because of Touchdown Jesus and the ability to drink soft drinks (plus Catholic girls are usually slutty). This series really does nothing for me as a Notre Dame fan. I don't hate it. I don't love it. It's just a whatever feeling. My strongest memory of the Catholics vs. Mormons game is Ty Willingham totally shitting the bed in the 2004 season opener. I've tried to block out most memories but I can still remember how violently angry I got when Willingham wouldn't put freshman Darius Walker in at tailback and insisted on running fucking Marcus Wilson and Travis Thomas. Oh what lovely memories those were.

BYU is getting a good deal out of this. They get more national exposure as an independent on ESPN then they would in the Mountain West Conference. They can also line up a pussy schedule if they so choose or go play the big boys. More of the same in the college football world. Less playoffs and more debate.

BOISE STATE REVEILS THEIR NIKE PRO COMBAT UNIFORMS

Yesterday I told you about Virginia Tech coming out in some new Nike Unis for their game on Monday against Boise State and I completely forgot about the Broncos doing the same. Never to be outdone by a BCS Conference team, Boise State will too be ready to rock in some new digs. You can buy the new uniforms plus check out a pretty cool Combat Broncos helmet at BRONCOSPORTS.COM. I'm not sure how much I like the Bronco on the pants but I definitely like the helmet.

Big HT to Nick and Ryno for the link.

MIAMI VS FLORIDA IN YANKEES STADIUM 2013

Sign me up for this game! Even though I have no idea why they would play it at Yankees Stadium. People in New York don't even know they play football in college.

From FloridaToday.com...

CORAL GABLES — Miami has entered talks about playing a football game at Yankee Stadium in 2013.

Hurricanes athletic director Kirby Hocutt met with the Yankees on Tuesday about the possibility. Miami already has five home and five road games scheduled for that year, leaving two slots on its schedule.

The Hurricanes plan to host longtime rival the Florida Gators on Sept. 7, 2013. Miami is scheduled to visit the South Florida Bulls on Nov. 30 of that year in Tampa, Fla., the Yankees’ spring training home.

“I think it’s great for college football and the University of Miami,” Miami coach Randy Shannon said Wednesday. “You play teams outside of the conference a lot ... and it’s an opportunity for us to be in the Northeast, which is a big University of Miami alumni base area.”

Shannon said the school is “going through negotiations” with teams looking to find an opponent for the Yankee Stadium matchup.

Miami played in the old Yankee Stadium in 1962, losing to Nebraska in what was the final edition of the Gotham Bowl.

I find it amusing they have a quote from Randy Shannon about the game in 2013. It's on par with Charlie Weis talking last year about the Army-Notre Dame game to be played this year. No fucking way Shannon lasts that long in Miami. I have a better chance of catching gonorrhea from Derek Jeter's jock strap than Shannon lasting to the year 2013.

MANNY ALREADY PLAYING THE "MANNY BEING MANNY" BULL SHIT IN CHICAGO

What the fuck Manny? You don't need a translator. You speak English asshole. I've gone on record saying I love the way Manny swings a bat. In fact I think he has the sweetest right handed swing of all-time. But jesus christ this guy has some fucking baggage. I feel bad for bench coach Joey Cora here. He knows Manny is full of shit and can speak and understand American. Plus it's in Chicago. It's not like they are in Boston where everybody sounds like they are sucking cock while trying to whisper.

Freeman to the Bravos

The day has finally come, Freddie Freeman gets his well deserved call up to play with the big boys in Atl! While this leaves Troy Glaus' season a bit in question, Bravos fans and the Bravos themselves are excited to see the potential future first base star in the bigs, finally. There are multiple rumors of several American League teams interested in Glaus for a clean up role and with Infante playing well at 2nd, Prado still raking and playing 3rd, Derek Lee, Erik Hinske and Freeman at 1st, trading Glaus for a future SS or LF may not be the worst idea.

In case you missed it, Freeman was also recently named the International League Rookie of the Year and named the best defensive 1st baseman in the league. The last Braves player to win this award was none other than Larry himself.

The future is bright in Atlanta folks. Hanson, Medlen, Minor, Kimbrel, Venters, Prado, McCann, Infante, Heyward, and Freeman are looking like a hell of a core to build around and with each of these guys being relatively young in their careers, that future may be bright for years to come. Let's pack the Ted for the rest of the season and support our Bravos! Hanson is on the mound tonight for the Braves versus the Mets in the series finale and if I'm lucky, Freeman will make his debut at 1st Base! Let's go Braves!

IOWA OFFENSIVE LINEMAN JOSH KOEPPEL TO MISS SEASON OPENER FOR MINOR FENDER BENDER

Granted Koeppel's fender was that of the moped he was driving before some jackass pulled in front of him...

Somehow Koeppel managed to walk away from this incredible accident witnessed by a police cruiser. No major injuries at all except jello for a brain. He's not going to play this week since the accident just happened on Monday and God knows how his body is going to react to the trauma of a 273 pound senior being thrown around like a raggedy ann doll. The guy is just lucky to be alive.

Not quite 'The Natural' that was

He’s come a long way from the cover of Sports Illustrated. ‘The Natural’ is no longer the prospect nor person he once was. For everything I’ve heard about Frenchy being down to Earth, relaxed, positive, smart, and talented, all I can say is that I’m still waiting for him to be humble. Since the cover of SI, Francoeur has done nothing to live up to the nickname. He joined the Atlanta team as the right fielder of the future in 2005 and looked every bit the part. Labeled as the savior of the Bravos, Francoeur, McCann, Boyer, Davies, McBride, Johnson, and the rest of the nicknamed “Baby Braves” are all gone, with the exception of McCann, and the Braves have been better for it.

Jeff is headed to his 3rd team in 5 seasons, 2nd in 18 months, and is still saying he’s looking for the opportunity to play every day. Hitting .237 with 11 HRs and 54 RBIs shouldn’t guarantee anyone the everyday label. The Pittsburgh Pirates and Kansas City Royals couldn’t find an opportunity for him to play every day so Francoeur somehow got traded to the division leading Texas Rangers on Tuesday to “help” them against left handed pitching.

I wish the kid all the best, but it seems to me that it’s time for a come to Jesus moment, and by Jesus, I don’t mean go and talk with Stephen Strasburg, Bryce Harper, or Tim Tebow, although I have heard reports that talking to Tim Tebow can cure Lupus so it wouldn’t hurt for Jeff to try. While in Atlanta, Frenchy proved to be hard headed and immature. As if getting demoted to the minors to straighten his swing, and presumably his head out, Jeff came back up and struggled more. In the off season, he went around the Braves to get instruction from a “personal” hitting coach. Even the conservative Terry Pendleton was quoted as saying the Braves had obviously paid attention to the wrong guy meaning that Brian McCann should have, and justifiably so, been the focus of the “face of the organization” talk from day 1.

It’s time for Francoeur to wake up. Talent plus desire does not equal success. At some point, you have to realize what kind of player you are, what kind of player you want to be, and do the things it takes to make up the difference. Those things aren’t demanding higher salaries, demanding playing time, and spurning coaches to do things on your own terms. The guy has a world of talent, but is in the process of making Oliver Perez’s decision to spurn management and refuse to be designated to AAA to improve a stroke of genius.

Take my advice Jeff, go to Texas with an open mind and be willing to listen to management and work on what they say your issues are. Those guys have been around a lot longer and like it or not, pay your salary. Good luck with the Rangers and if all else fails, get Saint Tebow to bless your bat, hey it’s worth a shot.

VIRGINIA TECH WILL BE ROCKING THE NIKE PRO COMBAT UNIS AGAINST BOISE STATE

NikeBlog.com has the first look at what the Virginia Tech Hokies will be wearing on Monday night versus the Boise State Broncos. Of course you can always depend on Nike to come up with something new and these uniforms are a part of the new Nike Pro Combat series. I can't really tell by the picture if I like them or not. I'm usually more of a traditionalist when it comes to uniforms especially the numbers on the jerseys. I've also never worn camouflage in my life. Honestly I think these uniforms will just fire up the opposition more and Boise State will be ready for the Hokies. Right now Boise State is sitting as a 2.5 point favorite. These Virginia Tech uniforms have been the deciding factor. I'm going Broncos to cover the spread.

Brantley + Heisman?!?!? You've got to be kidding.

Photo Image Courtesy of the Associated Press

Check out Chris Low's SEC blog on ESPN today and you'll notice something pretty interesting. Low tabs John Brantley as a Heisman Watch candidate from the SEC. He must have been on the Strasburg for President team. Just because the last QB of the Gaytors was either a Patron Saint or the reincarnation of Mother Theresa in a more manly, scratch that, more really really ridiculously good looking (thanks Zoolander) and much more athletic form, doesn't mean the "next" Gaytor QB should be in the running for the Heisman after not starting a game and only playing in mop up duty as last year. The kid is uber talented, but uber unproven and with so many Gaytors leaving their trailer parks for the NFL last year, the entire team has a lot prove. Hell, most of the coaching staff is less than 2 years in to their own mobile homes in the "swamp". Come on Chris, Marcel Dareus has a better chance at the Heisman and he's likely suspended for the season and winning this year's "I'm throwing away my talent by playing with agents", previously held by Maurice Clarett. PS no offense man, you're a good dude who's gotten his life straight after losing your eligibility and deciding to rob someone and you're much bigger than me, seriously man, no offense.

Season is almost here ladies and gents!!! Thursday's kick off can't come soon enough! Saturday starts the holiday season! Looking forward to the BCS having to justify their pics again, a few more coaches on the hot seat, Kiffin struggling, RichRod being fired, the SEC dominating, and everyone grilling out, drinking, and tailgaiting while pulling for their favorite teams which brings me to one important sentiment, Goooooooooooooo Dawgs! Sic Em! Woof Woof Woof!

Happy College Football Season!

IN THE YOU CAN NOT BE SERIOUS CATEGORY FOR TODAY: GEORGIA TECH LAUNCHES NESBITT4HEISMAN.COM

What a waste of money this is: nesbitt4heisman.com. The senior to be quarterback completed 46% of his passes last season. Reggie Ball was more accurate! Come on Nerds...let's get serious. Nesbitt can run the ball (1037 yards on the ground last season) but he throws the football like a kid stricken with cerebral palsy.

ST. LOUIS CARDINALS SUFFER TWO-SHIT SHUTOUT

Considering how completely anal MLB is with their interactive media I find it completely hilarious that someone fucked up last night when posting the latest J.A. Happ shutout (great move Phillies...ya fucking jackasses) of the St. Louis Cardinals. Yes, the "ROAD GETS ROUGHER WITH TWO-SHIT SHUTOUT" for the Redbirds. They are now 6 games back of the Cincinnati Reds in the NL Central. Maybe Albert Pujols should spend less time at a Glenn Beck Political Rally. Talk about jinxing yourself and your team. Come on Machine. You should know better.

ROGER FEDERER IS PRETTY GOOD

In case you were like 98% of the rest of the sports world and had no idea the US Open started well here is your reminder with an incredible between the legs shot by Roger Federer. I love how they show Federer's wife after the shot. She must be familiar with his between the legs antics I'm presuming is what they are telling the viewer. Maybe not. Who knows. Just a couple of more days till college football starts and already my brain is shit.

I CAN'T STOP LAUGHING AT THIS

I know I shouldn't be laughing hysterically since those are probably Albanian sex slave smugglers who have Liam Neeson's daughter swinging off a ledge but the anticipation always gets me. You know something bad is going to happen so it doesn't shock you or make you cringe. You just kind of laugh it off and say "thank god it ain't me" while you send the video to other co-workers and friends. Awesome.

McPeters’ Five Predictions for Opening Weekend

First of all, sorry for the absence. My wife and I welcomed our first born into the world on August 18 and I've been home taking care of her and him. Nolan was born at 11:24 PM on 8/18/10 and is home, happy, and healthy with his mother! Thanks to all of you guys who wished us well and have been around. Nolan says you guys rock! He also helped me make these picks. Just before he fell asleep, I heard my week and a half year old son yell GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO DAWGS! That's my boy!

Without further delay...

LSU destroys UNC’s hopes and dreams – Yes, before AgentGate, UNC looked good. Coach Butch Davis did a hell of a job building his team and his team did a hell of a job tearing themselves apart just before the season kicked off. LSU’s defense looks scary good themselves and the offense isn’t far behind. If Jordan Jefferson steps up, look for LSU to beat UNC by 21. If the entire UNC team is cleared to play, this may be a much tougher match up. UNC deserves better, but like Kentucky and thanks to dumb college kids and evil agents, may be praying basketball season hurries up.

Prediction: LSU 21 UNC 10

2. Saturday September 4, 2010 12:20 PM

UGA lives up to it’s “sleeper” status – Come on’ if the Dawgs don’t win by 21, Richt may actually be on the hot seat. Look for Branden Smith and Brandon Boykin to score special teams touchdowns, Justin Houston, Daryl Gamble, and Demarcus Dobbs to live in the backfield of the Ragin Cajuns and Todd Grantham’s defense to balloon statistics all day. There are some big debuts all over the defense including Jakar “Hitman” Hamilton, Bacarri Rambo finally starting, Alec Ogletree’s first collegiate interception, and the 3 - 4 defensive scheme to confuse both the opponent’s offense and at times UGA’s own defense. On offense, the nation’s top O-Line, top tight end group, and top receiver open up a running game like UGA hasn’t seen since the GA Tech game last season for Caleb King, Carlton Thomas, and Ken Malcome. Logan Gray catches a couple passess, Orson Charles breaks a few ankles, A.J. Green makes several spectacular plays and all is well in the BullDawg Nation until we beat South Carolina next weekend. Look for Marlon Brown, Rantavius Wooten, Aaron White, and Kris Durham to have welcoming parties. Yeah, it’s going to happen!

Prediction: UGA 42 – LA Lafayette 6

Vandy grows some balls and gets them kicked in – Go figure, the SEC East team to take on an actual football team that resembles a college athletic program is the one SEC team who looks like the weak opener for Northwestern. Here’s hoping for Larry Smith to QB a hell of a game and a win for Vandy’s new coach, Robbie Caldwell. Personally, I hope Vanderbilt does a great job and Caldwell is a successful coach, but even if the Commodores flop, like they always do, Nashville is still a great city and you’ll still catch me randomly in Tootsie’s or The Stage tossing a few back and enjoying the live music.

Prediction: Vandy 17 – Northwestern 14

Notre Dame shows up – It’s about time Notre Dame plays like a college football team again. I have grown tired of too many pretty boys with too much talent being all too wasted. That’s a lot of toos. Still, Dayne Crist is too talented to lose too often and the Notre Dame running game and defense should be much improved. Look for Notre Dame over Robert Marve and Purdue in a close game. It's going to be a good one regardless!

Prediction: Notre Dame 21 – Purdue 17

Hey Hokies, Shut Up! – Sorry, but I’m not apologizing to any Va Tech fans at all. Ryan Williams is good, Tyrod Taylor flashes both sides of Michael Vick, Bud Foster is an amazing D-coordinator, and the special teams for the Hokies will be stellar, as always. Boise State will win, period. Boise State still has something to prove and they are too talented to lose to a decent ACC team. The Broncos and their blue turf should join the ACC and give the ACC the consistent BCS threat every year that they have lacked since Miami starting sucking, Bobby Bowden went on a decline, and Ga Tech, nevermind, Ga Tech always sucks.

Prediction: Boise 28 – Va Tech 17

KIRK HERBSTREIT MUST HAVE ATE PAINT CHIPS AS A KID

Because there is no fucking logical reason why he failed to mention Notre Dame WR Michael Floyd in his top 5 receivers for his annual "Herbie" Awards...

1. A.J. Green, Georgia
2. Ryan Broyles, Oklahoma
3. Jon Baldwin, Pitt
4. DeAndre Brown, Southern Miss
5. James Rodgers, Oregon State

I have no argument with A.J. Green being #1 because he is the best in the nation but Michael Floyd deserves to be up in the #2 or #3 slot. Floyd is a fucking monster who will eat your children Herbie. I really hope the coaches and players show Floyd this list to fire him up even more. The only reason I can possibly come up with the utter disrespect by pretty boy Herbie is that Floyd has a tendency to get hurt. He missed 5 and a half games last year and still nearly put up 795 yards receiving with 9 TDs in only 6 full games. Nobody can stop Floyd except himself.

Come on Herbie. Put down the paint chips and fucking wake up. Floyd next to A.J. Green are the two most dominant receivers in the college game. Show some respect Buckeye.

DIZZY BAT FAIL WET DAY AT GEORGIA TECH

Valiant effort by the Nerd. My ass would have been passed out and pissing on myself after the fourth spin tops. It's a good thing Georgia Tech Head Coach Paul Johnson wasn't on hand for this display. He might have pulled a Suh and ripped the kid's head off for being a pussy. God I can't wait for college football to start!

NDAMUKONG SUH ATTEMPTS TO DECAPITATE JAKE DELHOMME

Detroit Lions rookie defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is apparently not a Jake Delhomme fan. Who can blame him? The rook literally tries to rip off his fucking head. I think the "House Of Spears" is sending a very loud and clear message to the rest of the NFL that you better watch out for him and that the Lions are no longer the league's patsy. Even though they still are. I still got my money on Suh and Golden Tate being the two best players in this rookie class. Those guys are once every ten years type players who have that something extra that makes them special.

GREAT PLAY KID

Talk about an all-time epic fuck up on the football field. Jesus kid...what the hell were you thinking? This video has already gone viral with over 750,000 views and the first thing I thought when I saw this was "Holy shit Reggie Ball is back in high school!" It's got to be him right? Or the kid must be related to Ball. Only a Ball would pull something so idiotic.

5 MORE DAYS TILL SATURDAY

Here is a pump up video for my Georgia friends to get them through this slow Monday....

And of course I can't have one without a little Irish magic in it...

5 more days. We can't get through this. The tailgate is just around the corner. I can smell it.
