COLLEGE FOOTBALL TOP 10

1. AUBURN-I'm giving War Cam Eagle the nod here because they play in the toughest conference. They got wins over 3 top 25 teams including one in the top 10. They get Georgia at home this week. Win it and they can go ahead and make reservations for Atlanta for the SEC Championship.

2. TCU-I know I'm going to get some shit for putting them over Oregon but let me explain first. TCU destroyed Utah on the road. Crushed them. They also have the nation's best defense and their offense may not put as many points on the board as the Ducks but they are still averaging over 40 points a game. TCU just needs to win out and they will be playing for a National Title.

3. OREGON-The Ducks have crushed everybody this season and deserve the recognition they are getting from pollsters. There just seems to be something missing which I can't put my finger on in terms of ranking them above Auburn and TCU at this point. Maybe it's PAC-10 bias but the only good team they have beaten this year in my mind is Stanford. All they have to do is win out vs. Cal, Arizona, and Oregon State and they can play for a BCS Title game. I see them slipping up in one of those games.

4. BOISE STATE-All they do is win. They have the 2nd rank offense in the nation and they also have the 2nd rank defense. Kellen Moore will lead them to an undefeated season but it looks like they are going to need Oregon and Auburn to both lose in order to play for a BCS Title. They won't jump an undefeated TCU in my opinion.

5. STANFORD-They have the nation's best pro-style quarterback in Andrew Luck and they can stamp a trip to Pasadena if they win out. They have an outside shot of reaching a BCS Title game. The odds are about 1 in 2 billion but there is still a chance.

6. LSU-I don't know what to say about this team. They look ugly on the field but somehow they always manage to win. I guess having the best defensive player in the country in Patrick Peterson helps. The Mad Hatter did outcoach Nick Saban last week. Never thought I would say those words.

7. WISCONSIN-In the driver's seat for a trip to Pasadena if they can win out vs. Indiana, Michigan and Northwestern. Personally I hope they lose just because I have never enjoyed watching the Badgers. They are like the Miami Dolphins of college football. I just choose not to watch because they always bore the shit out of me and their coach is a jackass.

8. NEBRASKA-Survived a nail biter in overtime to Iowa State. The Cornhuskers look to regroup this week with Taylor Martinez back from injury vs Kansas. They need to put 50 on the board to impress the pollsters and try to get into the top 5.

9. OKLAHOMA STATE-Justin Blackmon has pretty much already clinched the Biletnikoff award for best receiver. The sophomore has been a beast this year with 75 catches for over 1200 yards and 15 TDs. He will put on a show this week vs Texas on primetime network television. He deserves serious Heisman consideration.

10. OHIO STATE-The Buckeyes are good but they have no signature wins. Miami is terrible and the rest of their out of conference schedules was cupcakes. The one good team they faced they lost in Wisconsin. They still have a shot at the Rose Bowl if they can win out.

OOOPPPSSS!!! and Help CHOA!

Hey everyone! I'll apologize for Matt and I missing our picks from last week. I'm sure I can speak for him as well when I say the changes him and I have had in our personal lives have tended to take over a little bit! Those of you who know us personally know exactly what I'm talking about and I know that my family is so thankful for all of the congrats and support! I won't miss another week, unless there is an emergency, so whether you think my picks suck or not, you'll have to deal with them until Matt kicks me off.

Secondly, the company I work for and a team I am involved with through that company are working together to raise money for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta (www.choa.com). I'm not putting that out there for your money or any donations, but to say that the holiday season is close and there are tons of kids who simply need help to enjoy the holiday season. For whatever reason, their families are unable to help them, they have outstanding medical needs, they have been involved in a bad accident, who knows, but it's the time of year to give and I hope that you all consider sponsoring a child, giving to the Red Cross, even giving to the annoying people who ring bells for the Salvation Army. Tough times are the best times to give and to volunteer around our communities and just as Matt makes a donation from every single sale to a charitable organization (The American Cancer Society), I would encourage you all to look for ways to give back.

If you are interested in helping my teams cause for CHOA, we are accepting sponsorships for an upcoming Soap Box Derby where 100% of the sponsorship will go to CHOA, shoot me an email @ john.s.mcpeters@gmail.com and I can email you with details.

Wherever you live, help make this holiday season less about what you receive and more about what you give and how you can help your community this season. Information about CHOA is below. Thanks guys, for reading, for commenting, and for caring! I personally wish all of you guys an amazing holiday season, yes even you Blake...

AUBREY HUFF PULLS A ZOOLANDER AT GIANTS WORLD SERIES PARADE

Baseball needs more personalities like Aubrey Huff. The guy could literally give two shits what anyone thinks of him. He wore the rally thong all year despite the teasing and the laughing and guess what happened? World Series Champs. Nobody thought before the season started that the Giants were legitimate contenders for the whole enchilada. But the rally thong proved everybody wrong.

Could you imagine if Huff pulled this shit on the east coast or in the midwest? There would be church groups and political figures calling him a sexual deviant while protesting with pitchforks and torches. But in San Fran nobody gives a shit because it is so liberal and free. Awesome.

DALLAS COWBOYS LAP DANCE

The Dallas Cowboys have collectively gone in the shitter this year at 1-6 but I don't think these Cowboys fans really give a shit. What are the chances her name is Debbie? I give it 50/50 odds. I will be attending my first NFL game of the year next Thursday when the Baltimore Ravens come down to the Dirty South. Falcon's fan girls you have been put on alert. You can't let this little Cowgirl outdo you. I expect Pink Pony shit to go down as the Falcons are destroying the Ravens. It's only polite.

Oh yeah I keep hearing about Notre Dame losing recruits left and right now that they shit the bed against Tulsa and Navy in back-to-back weeks. If you want to get those recruits back I suggest some of those St. Mary girls start doing a little Cowgirl action in the stands. At this point anything would help the Irish.

USC QB MATT BARKLEY DOING "HIS DOUGIE" TO ACE OF BASS

Matt Barkley did his white man's Dougie for his pre game ritual before getting thrown around by Oregon on Saturday. I got to admire his determination. He really is putting it all out there. Yes indeed Matt Barkley...it's a beautiful life.

JOHN WALL DOES "THE DOUGIE" FOR HIS HOME DEBUT

Man this kid has fucking game! Not only does he do "The Dougie" during his intro but he goes out and does something no NBA player has accomplished in over 40 years. With his 29 points, 13 assists, and 9 steals in an electric OT win over the Philadelphia 76ers Wall became just the third NBA player to have at least tally 60 points and 20 assists in his first three NBA games. The other two were Oscar Robertson and Connie Hawkins. The Great Wall will be the face of the NBA for the foreseeable future. The kid is that good.

WILL FERRELL AND MANNY PACQUIAO SING "IMAGINE"

You know what I can imagine? Pacman absolutely destroying Antonio Margarito next weekend. It's going to happen. Margarito has no shot of beating the Pacman. Vegas sees it that way too. It will take you a $1000 bet just to win $112.

OREGON DUCK PULLING MAD GAME OVER USC

Not only on the field do the Ducks totally fuck the Trojans but off the field they use them and then throw them out in the trash.

SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS WIN WORLD SERIES

I have to admit I'm a little surprised how easy it was for the Giants. They absolutely crushed the Rangers. Their pitching was incredible with Lincecum, Cain, and Bumgarner all pitching gems. The backend of the bullpen shut things down quickly. Edgar Renteria, yes the 36 year old shortstop, won the World Series MVP after hitting two huge homeruns in the Series. He only had 3 during the regular season. And closer Brian Wilson just wants to rage. They might not be the prettiest team to watch but the Giants played as a team and got contributions from everyone except Barry Zito who is far and away their most expensive player. With their young starters the Giants should be set up for a few years to make some more runs at postseason glory. If only the Braves wouldn't have committed those 5000 errors in the NLDS we could be talking about the Braves right now. Oh well, there is always next year. Let the free agent bonanza begin.

BETWEEN TWO FERNS WITH ZACH GALIFIANAKIS: BRUCE WILLIS

Comedy gold here my friends.

"What's you talking about Willis?"

"Look Who's Talking?"

"Where do you keep your Blockbuster Entertainment Award?"

"Ashton should tweet this!"

VOTE NO ON PROP 19 FROM A DRUG DEALER

This will be my one political contribution for election. Vote no on Prop 19 California! Think about all the drug dealers who would no longer thrive in our society and all the small time drug dealers behind bars who the tax payer pays for. This can't happen. I support drug dealers and if I lived in California I would vote no on Prop 19. Marijuana is an awful drug that gives you munchies and makes you smell like a wet dog who rolled around in it's own feces. I like feces.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK: NEBRASKA RB ROY HELU JR.

307 rushing yards! Are you fucking kidding me? Roy Helu Jr. sets a new Nebraska rushing record while averaging over 11 yards per carry against Missouri. I still think Nebraska wins the Big 12 this year. They will beat Oklahoma in the championship game because the Sooners defense is suspect at best. I'm predicting Nebraska vs. Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl.

HEISMAN FRONTRUNNER CAM NEWTON DRESSED AS A FAIRY

With the way the season has gone for Cam Newton and Auburn I'm pretty positive he could cross dress and pick up strange in gay bars and nobody in Alabama would care. We are now 9 weeks into the season and I'm still having a difficult time picking who the best team in the country is. Auburn has looked incredible but so has Oregon. I think if you played these two teams against each other 10 times they would split down the middle. Everyone wants to talk about Boise State as being the sleeper and for good reason but I think the team you have to look out for is TCU. They are now 3rd in the BCS passing the Broncos and have a huge game against undefeated Utah this Saturday. College Gameday will be there and will give the Hornfrogs their due. If the Gary Patterson led Hornfrogs go undefeated and say one of Oregon or Auburn loses (chances are both could have one loss before Christmas break) then you gotta put TCU in the BCS Title game.

But right now who cares? Cam Newton is living a reality based fairy tale season and it appears only Bama stands in their way for BCS glory.

COLLEGE FOOTBALL WEEK 9 PREDICTIONS

WORLD'S LARGEST COCKTAIL PARTY (FLORIDA +2.5)
I'm having a hard time believing all my Georgia friends that they are the better team than Florida. Why? Because they are not. I think we might finally get a close battle today because both of these programs are going through transitions. Georgia and Florida are both out of the top 25 and neither has beaten anybody of significance. I know one thing for sure is the Dawgs have the better QB in Aaron Murray and he is going to be under pressure all day from a Gators defense. Expect blitzing all day. If Florida didn't have the extra week off I would probably be taking UGA but I think Urban Meyer has Florida ready to play their best game of the year.
Florida 20 vs. Georgia 17

Ducks vs Trojans (Oregon - 6.5)
Oregon has the most efficient offense in the country. The Trojans defense is young and gives up a ton of big plays. Last year the Ducks ran all over the filthy Trojans in Eugene. This year won't be any different. This game will be over by the end of the third quarter and LaMichael James makes his Heisman statement.
Oregon 49 vs Southern Cal 21

Michigan State(+6.5) vs Iowa
Iowa has to win to stay in the Big Ten race. Their backs are against the wall and if they lose they know they have a slim chance of reaching a New Years Day bowl. Sparty is still undefeated and riding a magical season. They are the only undefeated Big Ten team left but have been winning narrowly much like Iowa did last season. The magic ends today.
Iowa 30 vs Michigan State 28

Nebraska vs Missouri (+7)
I know this will sound dumb to Missouri fans because Nebraska is their biggest rival but this is a classic letdown game. They pulled off the shocker last week in beating Oklahoma. This week they got to travel to Nebraska who appeared to get their mojo back and more importantly their T-Magic working against Okie State last week. I think the Cornhuskers win but don't cover.
Nebraska 27 vs Missouri 24

Notre Dame vs Tulsa(+8)
It's been an awful week for Notre Dame. They got destroyed by Navy and then lost ND student/videographer Declan Sullivan to a horrible accident on their practice field a few days later. The Notre Dame community has come together for support but I still wonder when the football team comes together and plays as a team. The passion has been gone for a while and unfortunately the team looks like it is regressing again as the season progresses. Tulsa has an offense that can put a lot of points on the board (7th in the nation) and will come in to South Bend expecting to win against a deflated Notre Dame team.

WWTTDGD?!?!

Photo from gatorzone.com
WWTTDGD... AKA What Would Time To Die Guy Do? That must be the new saying in Gainesville. No more St. Tebow. Gay-tor fans are now praying to a new diety, Chris "TTDG" Rainey. I knew Meyer was a croc...

Jeff Schultz of the AJC picks against the Dawgs this week, but check out his weekend predictions anyway. I couldn't help but find this little excerpt hilarious. Schultz officially made my day.

I know. Georgia has the better quarterback. Georgia has the better running game. Georgia has the best player in the game (A.J. Green). Georgia even has the coach who didn’t drop-kick his conscience and morals this week. Florida coach Urban Meyer will bring back Time To Die Guy Chris Rainey. He will hand off to Time To Die Guy. He will throw to Time To Die Guy. I’m guessing he will even wear an wristband with the inspirational initials: “WWTTDGD.”

Week 9 and STILL The World's Largest Cocktail Party

AP Photo

I can promise you, my house will never be divided. My nephew once asked what I would do if he chose UF to play football, and I can promise you the kid will have an offer and he's only in 8th grade. I gently let him know that I'd make sure that I disowned him, his father (my brother and a huge ND and UGA fan) made sure to let him know he would never fund that decision, and my wife told him that living in the trailer parks in Gainesville were considered "cool". Think we like Florida?!?!? This year is the first in a few the Dawgs are actually favored and the first year in quite a few that I truly believe the boys will come through.

Week 9 is here and I honestly had trouble finding the relevant games to pick this week. Regardless, I can live with my 25-10 record, and this week, I'll be 5 - 0. Just for the hell of it, check out the girls of the SEC.

Dawgs vs. GAY-tors (UGA favored by 3)

Kelly Wegel

Dawgs get it done in Jacksonville. Look, Florida has proven they are not very good. The story is that Brantley isn't have the Saint Tebow was and Meyer isn't a quarter of the man anyone thought he was. Come on, Rainey is coming back?!?!? I believe in 2nd chances, but if he threatened my daughter, court and playing time wouldn't be near the top of his troubles. As "good of a guy" as Meyer claims to be, there is a fine line in screwing up and threatening to kill someone. Domestic violence shouldn't be tolerated and I don't think Chris Rainey is the kind of difference maker UGA lost the first four games in AJ Green. The UF defense looked good, for a minute, but has begun to break, and though Urban Meyer has only lost 3 games in his career after a bye week, I'm not sure that Florida has what it takes to beat a much improved UGA team. Coach Grantham has his defense ready to play, Coach Richt is continuing to coach for his job and Aaron Murray has proven to be by far the better Florida QB between him and Brantley. I'm thinking this year will be a good year for UGA and hoping that they will start a new tradition of not losing to UF consistently, ever again. Take the Dawgs to win and cover the spread.

UGA 31 vs UF 21

Ducks vs Trojans (Oregon favored by 6.5)
I think that the Trojan condom wrapper may have a better chance of containing the highly explosive Oregon offense. I can't disagree with Auburn being the #1 team in the BCS poles, but Oregon deserves any and every honor they get this year. The offense is ridiculous, the defense is talented, and they are coached by someone who means business. Don't get me wrong, the boys of the University of Spoiled Children are talented, but when they lost Pete Carroll, they lost a lot more than a coach. Lame Kiffin does not deserve to coach in the college ranks. He is unloyal, he is unethical, and he has never truly proven to be worthy of a head coaching job. It says something about a coach when his dad has to be around him 24/7 and still can't keep him in line. He screwed up Tennessee for years to come and now he's working on USC too. Sorry Trojan fans for your loss and I hope your AD has the sense to bring in a respectable coach soon to turn the ship around before it's too late. Barkley is going to have a good game, but the Trojans don't score nearly enough to keep up with the Ducks. Ducks easily cover the spread.

Oregon 45 vs Southern Cal 17

Michigan State vs Iowa (Iowa favored by 6.5)
Look, don't piss those corn fed Iowa boys off, period. Mark Dantonio's team has put together a special season, but the win one for the gipper routine only lasts so long. Iowa is hungry after losing a tough game last week to Wisconsin at home and Ricky Stanzi is out to prove he'll win another big game. The Hawkeyes won't let their fans down like that again at home and the Hawkeyes O and D line should dominate this game. I'm going to take Iowa for the win, but not to cover the spread. This looks like a hell of a game and I'm not looking forward to missing it while watching UGA stomp Florida. There are always commercial breaks. Iowa wins by 6.

Iowa 23 vs Michigan State 17

Nebraska vs Missouri (Nebraska favored by 7)
With an apology to my family in St. Louis, your undefeated season and hopes for the National Championship end here, if you ever had those hopes at all. Sorry Tiger fans, Nebraska is too good and T-Magic has responded to the criticism. Nebraska is back to being the type of team my father used to brag about when I was a kid. The boys are fast, strong, big, and very good. Huskers beat up on the Tigers and cover the spread.

Nebraska 27 vs Missouri 17

Notre Dame vs Tulsa (Notre Dame favored by 8)
Tulsa may be more than Notre Dame can handle, but after playing awful the last few weeks, I've got to believe the Leprechauns start to turn things around. They are too talented not to, aren't they? Let's hope so. Take Notre Dame buy not the spread. Irish by 7.

Irish 28 vs Tulsa 21

THE RON WASHINGTON HALLOWEEN COSTUME

Via MidWestSportsFan comes the almost dead on Ron Washington Halloween costume. Put a little booger sugar around the nose and fingertips and you got a dead ringer.

By the way was it just me or did Vlad Guerrero look like Michael J. Fox competing in a Jenga tournament last night? Vlad made Brooks Conrad look like Ozzie Smith out there.

AWFUL NEWS OUT OF NOTRE DAME YESTERDAY

Just when you think the Notre Dame football program couldn't take any more hits comes this news about the tragic death of Declan Sullivan, a 20 year old Notre Dame student. Here is what Declan twittered before the 50 foot scissor lift tower collapsed:

In the first message, timestamped 3:22 p.m., Sullivan wrote, "Gust of wind up to 60mph well today will be fun at work... I guess I've lived long enough :-/."

The second message, which was sent at 4:06 p.m., less than an hour before his tragic fall at 4:50 p.m., reads, "Holy f*** holy f*** this is terrifying."

I don't know what really to say. I've heard conflicting stories about whether or not he should have been videotaping in the first place when the wind gusts were reaching 40-50 mph in South Bend. I'm not sure who's call it was and I hope people are not so quick to judge and persecute who's fault if any there was in this tragic incident. From what I've heard Declan was a well liked kid who loved Notre Dame football. He will be missed. R.I.P Declan Sullivan.

GAY-TOR Pro Combat Gear

Sorry for the short post, pretty busy at my regular job, but this was too much to pass up. GAY-tor Pro-Combat Jorts, get em while they're hot! This is too funny...

Check out the article at The Leather Helmet Blog (leatherhelmetblog.com) which I find awesome by the way.
